I can recommend Steven Leff and Tanya for their professionalism, honesty, and going above and beyond to do everything they could to help my husband and I defend ourselves in a family court matter with his ex-wife.We have tried other lawyers but chose Steven to represent us because of his experience in family court, his competency in managing difficult cases, and most of all because he treated us with respect, patience, and support.Unlike other lawyers we trusted him to be honest and realistic with us about our chances, I never felt that he was just encouraging us to waste money or inflate his fees. Even though neither party won he helped us get to a settlement in court which avoided further court actions and expensive ongoing legal fees. In terms of fees, I appreciated the clear break down in his billing, and having a legal assistant at a cheaper rate doing a lot of the work - this is REALLY worth it.We were in a high-stress situation, where the other party was unreasonable, unwilling to discuss or settle, and aggressively filing claims and asking for expensive hearings. There was no way we could have survived emotionally or financially without a good lawyer. It was a horrible draining journey but I felt Steven was with us all the way - and feeling like your lawyer is really on your side, and actually wants to help you is invaluable.Out of court I appreciated Stevens reassuring and gentle manner, and in court he was fantastic to watch - definitely able to aggressively defend us too - I think this nice but aggressive when needed its a rare combination in a lawyer. No one wants to pay legal fees, so it helps if you actually like your lawyer and feel that they gave you the best service they could, even when you dont get the outcome you wanted. We are both very grateful we chose Stevens office to help us, thank you.
