This has been my personal experience and I share it so it does not become yours. Dick Streza was Dad’s estate planning attorney for close to 20 years. Dad was lead to believe that all the personal estate planning, tax preparation, business formulations, the use of Trusts by way of a QPRT, life insurance and the good ole ABC would ensure that his sizable estate would be administered as he intended. He is rolling over in his grave at the unethical and irresponsible “guidance” Dick and his firm “green lighted” the trustee with their reinterpretation of his trust and its provisions. I must point out that 17 years after the fact Dick was not clear what constituted a triggering event in the operating agreement for the LLC he helped formalize. Additionally I must state that Dad and Dick discussed in depth that Dad’s intent with the LLC was for his daughters. But guess what, trustee (mom) now has the money so the intent has shifted to her. How can a client spend tens of thousands on a estate plan only to be rewritten by greed, billable hours, unethical behavior, intentional interference of inheritance, many conflicts of interest and breach of fiduciary duty. My ignorance was in thinking that since Dick drafted Dads will and trust naturally they were working for the benefit of the family (beneficiaries) to carry out Dads will and explicit intent! So not the case in my situation. Now we have a rouge Trustee (mom) along with her Attorney Dick Streza that won’t even answer my calls or emails. Shame on you all. This now is going to cost hundreds of thousands to repair the damage done and still doing by allowing these continued breaches and abuses to continue as the clock records every billable minute for you!!!
